The festival area (“festival område” on the picture) of the Sami Church Days is peacefully located next to the sea. Here the “storlavvu” (the big Sami tent) will be centrally located, encircled by market stalls, food tent, activity area and the youth camp. The majority of events will take place here, including church services, concerts, large seminars and much of the youth program.

Fjordgården hotel is located just next to the festival site, and we want to fill this completely. Up to 1 June, all guest reservations are reserved for Sami Church Days guests . We encourage you to order before this!

Meyergården hotel is 5-10 min walk from the festival site, and is the largest hotel in the city (100 rooms are kept off here until 31 April). Here also begins Mo i Rana down town. Part of the church days activities will be held in down town, including theater, films and art exhibitions.

Mo Church is visible in the urban landscape and witness about the central role of the Sami in the history of the city. The church was originally built for the Sami in 1723 by “the “Sami apostle” Thomas von Westen. Evening Prayer Friday will be held here, and it will be offered guided tours in the Church during the weekend.

From the festival area it is only a short walk along the sea promenade until you reach Moholmen. This is Mo i Rana’s oldest neighborhood, and the first school in the city’s history was built here. Like the Church also the School was originally built for the Sami.
