Sami Church Days is a pan-Sami church event for the entire Sápmi region of Norway, Sweden, Finland and Russia.

In August 2013 the event is hosted for the third time, and for the first time in Norway and in the South Sami region.

The event is founded by the representative bodies of Sami church life in the Lutheran folk churches in Norway, Sweden and Finland, and inclusion of Orthodox tradition and Russian Sami is emphasized.

Objections

  • strengthen, vitalize and inspire Sami church life across the boarders.
  • exhibit the spiritual, theological and artistic richness of Sami church life
  • strengthen the Sami languages
  • be a meeting place for people of all ages regardless of church affiliation
  • be attractive to youth
  • build understanding between Sami and non-Sami people
  • be a drug-free event
